Budapest is divided by the river Danube, which flows north-south through the centre of the city.
Buda is the old part of the city, where you can find the most historical places from the era of the Turkish occupation, and the Hungaro-Austrian Monarchy.
Pest is not only the commercial and business part of the city, but also you can find a lot of museums, historical buildings, churches, and the Great Synagogue in the Jewish quarter.
